Quantro Tone
Started in 1973 as Iron City by nine young friends in Nottingham and renamed Quantro in 1974, after the four speakers in each box. Still uses its original home-built pre-amp and turntables. Linked with Lloyd Coxsone, was the first sound to play Nottingham's Market Square and the Forest carnival, and backed Sugar Minott, Dennis Brown and Gregory Isaacs. Celebrated 50 years in 2024.
