Our story

Straight out of South London, we were running sound systems back in the '90s.

When the underground rave scene exploded into the mainstream, we were on the front line. We rigged and ran systems in some of the best-known spots in the capital, from West End clubs to one-off parties where nobody had played before.

Where we played

Maximum and The Vox, Leicester Square

Leicester Square was the centre of mainstream London nightlife in the 1990s, and a club there had to sound right for a full room of people every weekend. We installed and ran the system at Maximum, the club known as The Vox, right in the square.

Funkin' Pussy, Oxford Street and the Africa Centre

Funkin' Pussy (Funkin'P) was a Saturday night that started at The Fish on Oxford Street and moved to the Africa Centre in Covent Garden. That was the same building where Soul II Soul had made their name a few years earlier. We put the sound in for the night.

Influence FM raves, across London

In the '90s, pirate radio was how you found out where the party was. Influence FM put on raves all over London, and we rigged and ran sound for them. That meant different venues, different rooms and the same job every time: get the bass right and keep it running until the morning.

Regent's Park Zoo

Not every party was in a club. We ran a system for an event at Regent's Park Zoo, an outdoor setup that needed a different approach to a warehouse or a West End basement.

Los Locos, Soho and Covent Garden

Los Locos was a Tex-Mex bar and club with branches in Soho and Covent Garden. The Covent Garden one, at 24 Russell Street, opened in 1986 and turned into a club from 10.30pm. We installed and ran sound at both.

Back again

We were there when the underground went mainstream, and now we're back: same raw passion, with a lot more to put into it. Part of that is this register. Most of the sound systems that built British music never had a website, so we're writing them down before the history disappears.
