Mikey Dread (Channel One)
Mikey Dread is the selector of Channel One, one of the best-known reggae sound systems in Britain. With his brother Jah T he took over their father's sound, Admiral Bailey, in 1979 and started playing blues parties and local dances in London. Channel One first played Notting Hill Carnival in 1983 and has been there every year since, playing a strictly vinyl roots selection from one turntable, with MCs Macky Banton and Ras Sherby.
He is not the same person as the Jamaican deejay and producer Mikey Dread (Michael Campbell), who died in 2008.
