Acid house turned sound system know-how towards a new music. DiY Sound System from Nottingham played house at free parties from 1990, the Exodus Collective ran huge raves around Luton, and today Cosmic Slop runs a hand-built audiophile rig in Leeds inspired by New York's disco sound systems.
