Hip hop sound systems
When hip hop and electro arrived in the early 1980s, sound systems were the first to play them loud. Mastermind in north-west London was one of the first UK sounds to specialise in soul, electro and hip hop. In Bristol, The Wild Bunch played hip hop at St Pauls parties and the Dug Out before some of its members formed Massive Attack.
